If you’re like me then you won’t be moving a lot during the day due to your work. Sitting for hours at a computer can be a work of it’s own but this could have detrimental effects on your body and mind.
Did you know that being physically active has tons of health benefits such as improving your heart and lung function, clearing your mind from negative thoughts and also helping you lose weight?
Since I am not a marathon lover I’m here to tell you that moving more doesn’t have to include running a marathon, as gentle exercise is also beneficial in promoting a healthier lifestyle. (check this post on how to increase physical activity)
From research, it’s been shown that being active for approximately thirty minutes a day is recommended to get the most benefits.
This could be a walk around your local area during your lunch break or trying that dance classes you always wanted to try!
More options are available such as joining a fitness class such as yoga, circuits and even local sporting activities.

I do have treat days but something that is consumed on a daily basis is not considered a treat anymore.
If you can remember from a young age, eating a well-balanced diet is one of the things has been drummed into mine and probably your ears from a young age, but still many people still avoid it.

Smoking is an addictive habit that can cause a host of long-term really bad health issues including more serious links to cancer and emphysema.
If you are smoking or drinking and you’re thinking of quitting then it’s one of the best things you can do for prolonged health benefits, but the path to giving up won’t be easy.
We humans form habits from doing something for a long period of time and the addictive nature of smoking forms habits that can stick with you for years even after you’ve given up and one of the hardest parts is actually getting rid of the necessity to hold something in your hand (didn’t even know that!), which before has acted like a comforter for many smokers.
If you need help in that area, there are many resources and health professionals that can help you to quit.

Covering up and using high factor sunscreen is the best option if you want to get out and enjoy the outdoors.
Sunglasses are also important for protecting your eyes and making sure you have lenses that block out the sun’s rays rather than fashion focused examples will ensure you don’t cause damage to your eyes.
The benefits of keeping a positive mind are totally underrated, but this healthy mindset can help you accomplish many things. Even when things get tough during your personal or work life, maintaining a calm and rational mind will help you to focus on the solutions to any issues.
Stress can have detrimental effects on the body and mind, so developing coping strategies can help see through problems on a range of levels.
