My never-ending search for the right skin care routine for me has taught me one thing. Consistency is the key. You can’t make your skin look healthy overnight, it’s a process. It does require a little bit of extra work, but, at the end of the day

Following these simple steps will definitely make your skin look better and healthier, and some of them are so amazing that you’ll feel their positive impact throughout the whole body.

The first tip for healthy skin is…drumroll…H2O

Drink enough water to stay hydrated.

Being hydrated is one of the best things you can do for your health. Not only will your skin look clearer and smoother, but your brain will also function better.

You’ll think more clearly and you’ll feel better.

How much water should you drink?

Drinking 8-10 glasses of water is one universal advice you can hear from almost everyone.

My advice is a little bit different and although it may seem strange, it’s proven to be the indicator of dehydration.

How do I know that I’m hydrated? I look at the color of my urine. If it’s dark yellow that’s a definite fact that I’m underhydrated.

I never count how many glasses of water I drink, It’s boring and I always seem to lose track. And at the end of the day, I just don’t want to put extra pressure on myself. I drink water whenever I feel thirsty and I always notice the color of my pee. If it’s light yellow and almost clear, I know I’m hydrated, and if it’s darker in color I just drink more water.

Sweat your way to healthy skin

Sweating detoxifies your body and flushes out clogged pores, which inevitably leads to clear and better-looking skin.

Sweating caused by working out is definitely one of the best ways to get rid of toxins and flush all the waste out of the system.

When you sweat, your pores open up and all the dirt that’s congesting them is washed away. However, this debris still sits on the skin, and If not washed off it can re-clog your pores. So, make sure to always take a shower and wash your face as soon as you’ve finished working out or come in from the heat. Or if you have no access to a shower at the moment, just wipe your face clean with baby wipes to remove the dirt.

Stop touching your face all the time

Your hands are not as clean as you might think.

Just think about it for a sec.

When was the last time you cleaned your phone? Never, Right?

Imagine how dirty things you touch every day can be, things like your phone, door knobs, the steering wheel of your car, your laptop, etc. You don’t want all that dirt transferred to your face.

So, if you want your skin to stay clean, keep your hands off your face.

Wash pillowcases more often

How often do you wash your pillowcases?

Well, you realize that pillowcases are in direct contact with your face for hours every single night, right?

If you don’t wash them regularly and they look like an old pair of underwear, just think about how much sweat and dirt they’ve collected over time. Get some new pillowcases, and change them once or twice a week.

Now its time to dive a little bit deeper into the skincare routine. If you’re not doing any of these, well, start right now. It’s essential.

Wash your face

The very foundation of every amazing skincare routine is a proper face wash. Washing your face EVERY morning and EVERY night is paramount. I can’t stress enough how important this is.

You really should be doing this every single day.

Washing your face with the proper product will remove dirt and oil and it will let the skin breathe.

Which product is the right product?

Well, a bar of soap, shampoo, body wash or anything else that can be used on any other part of the body is a terrible choice.

You need something that is meant to be used on your face and your face only. Invest a few dollars in a decent face wash and start using it, please.

The second pillar of every amazing skincare routine is a moisturizer.

Once you’ve properly cleaned and removed the dirt and debris, you’re left with squeaky clean skin which is now ready to be fed.

That’s exactly where moisturizers come into play. They feed the skin, giving it all the beneficial nutrients it needs in order to stay hydrated and smooth.

Moisturizing also reduces the chances of skin problems.

Using the right kind of moisturizer can help the skin maintain its balance, and give it boost it needs to repair itself and stay healthy. It also gives it a natural sheen.
